The front of the Cathedral.
 It took from 1150 to 1376 to build due to wars between Florence and Siena stopping work.
The bottom part was built by Giovanni Pisano and the top part was built by Giovanni di Cecco.

Again, the narrow streets so typical of Italian towns and cities.

Looking through the arch onto Piazza Del Campo where
The Palio takes place twice a year on July 2nd and August 16th.
The Palio is a race where 10 horses are ridden barebacked by representatives of 10 of the 17 Contrade into which the town is divided. The race goes back to the 15th century.

The Palazzo Pubblico, built between the 13th and 15th centuries is in the centre of town and on the only straight section of the Piazza where the horses race around.
 

The opening scenes of the James Bond (007) film Quantum Of Solace were filmed in and around the square during one of the horse races. 

Six views of the Piazza Del Campo. The horses race round the square just in front of the shops at a terrific pace. This is very prestigious for the winning rider and the area that he represents. The square is closed for three weeks prior to the race and hundreds of tons of sand are spread and compacted over the “race course” area ready for the day of the race.

Also in the Piazza Del Campo is this beautiful fountain called The Fonte Gaia.
